We’re looking for a creative, strategic person to join our marketing communications team. We want someone with an obsessive desire for learning and digging into social and cultural trends. You have a strong grasp on conducting secondary research online and experience with conducting primary research.

What you will do:

  • Perform research (including listening to audio clips, preparing document requests, and reading through documents) as assigned
  • Assist the Civilized content team with research projects, as needed
  • Conduct secondary searches to inform internal and external communications
  • Use analytic tools to identify the drivers of advocacy challenges, hypothesize solutions and isolate differences between conventional and advanced practice
  • Contextualize and interpret research findings within larger ideas, topics, and trends
  • Provide excellent written and graphical summaries of key findings; perform in-depth data analysis when necessary
  • Other duties as required

What qualities you have and what you have done:

  • 2 – 4 years experience as a research analyst
  • Bachelor’s’ Degree (or equivalent 4-year university degree) in a relevant discipline such as Business, Economics, Market Research, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or Science
  • Passionate about the news industry, digital media and current social and cultural trends
  • A high degree of intensity, follow-through, and collegiality, a desire and passion to learn
  • Superior analytical and presentation skills

As Program Manager, you will manage the overall responsibility for the completion of larger scale company wide initiatives. Responsibilities

Media Relations

  • Manage all media relations requests in the Calgary office.
  • Build strong working relationships with partners and associates to develop proactive story ideas; develop media pitches and releases
  • Coordinate all aspects of the interview process (e.g. receive calls, create key messages, spokesperson preparation, supervise the interview and ensure that it follows our best practices)
  • Routinely follow pertinent publications in order to communicate in a proactive manner ideas for articles to journalists
  • Gain deep understanding of the key issues and developments in the legal environment and designated practice and sector areas.
  • Build strong working relationships with legal, specialist and national media to assist in the media relations for the firm
