[FILLED] Technical Applications Specialist – (Toronto/GTA)

Responsibilities:

Provides technical support to customers and Sales in a given discipline(s). This support includes system troubleshooting, software upgrades, system installation, customer training and proactive follow up as well as participation in conventions and trade shows in order to assist in the sales cycle by performing demonstrations and coordinating system evaluations. (70%)

Provides post sales support on a proactive basis to customers in a given discipline(s). This support includes in-service, additional customer training, correlation studies and the dissemination of information pertaining to changes in protocols, reagents/controls values or ranges. Investigates, analyzes, and resolves customer satisfaction issues and complaints assigned to them in an accurate and timely fashion as required. (20%)

Provides additional support by developing and leading customer lunch and learn training (5%)

Qualifications:

  1. Education: MLT or B.Sc. in a related discipline is required.
  2. Years Related Work Experience: 3-5 years of recent diagnostics or clinical laboratory experience or preferably within the current industry.
  3. Travel is a large component of this position – requiring 80% travel.

Required Skills in Priority:

  1. Technical skills in medical diagnostic laboratory or clinical laboratory environment.
  2. Good working knowledge of computer applications eg. Microsoft Office.
  3. The incumbent must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  4. The incumbent should have a strong background in a customer-focused environment and should possess strong analytical skills to deal with complex business issues.
  5. The incumbent must be able to effectively manage his/her time since the job requirements encompass interaction in a large number of inside and outside customers.
  6. Good presentation skills.

Preferred Skills in Priority:

  1. Experience in a customer facing position is an asset.
  2. Good negotiation skills
  3. Networking computer skills.
  4. Depending on the territory covered, French may be a requirement. Otherwise, it would be an asset.
