This position reports to: CFO
The position mandate is to develop, maintain and to improve the financial infrastructure of the business.
Responsibilities
- Management of A/R and A/P functions to ensure effective management of operational cash flow
- Regular review of project budgets and WIP to ensure all costs are being budgeted and recovered
- Preparation of client budget control reporting when required
- Preparation and timely filing of HST and Provincial tax returns
- Completion of month end close, including reconciliation of all bank accounts, revenue recognition, accrual and prepaid entries
- Cash flow forecasting
- Key liaison with external accounting firm
- Review of current systems and procedures with overall goal of improving efficiencies and quality of financial reporting
Who you are:
- Ideally you have experience in an digitalor media agency
- You understand project based accounting
- Confident and capable, who works well independently but also enjoys supporting a team
- Service oriented, understanding that the processes and you put in place must enable great work to be accomplished and not be a barrier to achieving this
- Someone who understands the business of creativity
- You are detail oriented, process driven, with strong organizational skills. You have the ability to analyze numbers and can translate them into meaningful insights that can support decision making
- University degree/college diploma in Business Administration focused on Finance/Accounting, and are committed to professional development
- Pursing CPA would be an added bonus, but not a requirement.
- You excel at internal and external client relationships. You’re a partner to all of your clients.

- You thrive in an entrepreneurial environment.
- You can evaluate and manipulate data in Excel (or other spreadsheet software), have worked with other financial tools, and possibly participated in implementation of new financial tools.
