Our ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of how tasks fit into the larger project picture,   collaborating with the creative, UX, and backend development team members to support & engage the larger team to deliver on project milestones.  You will have experience developing and supporting web applications and working in structured environments following defined development methodologies including client/server and multi-tiered design and development.

Leveraging a thorough knowledge of HTML/CSS, MVC frameworks, OOP techniques, and proficiency with JavaScript/DOM and JavaScript frameworks (jQuery, Prototype / Scriptaculous, Dojo, Ext, etc.), you will work in a collaborative environment to develop Web Applications with a strong focus on user interface development and user experience.

A natural coach and mentor, you will provide high quality, well structured and well documented code, all while communicating effectively with tech leads, client counter-parts, and other members of the development team is essential.

Proving the ability to master new/emerging technologies, and take initiative to offer technical direction and creative solutions is key to success

Skills & Experience

• Deep experience using user interface technologies (JSP, AJAX, D/HTML, JSTL, etc.)
• Strong command of essential web technologies: XHTML, CSS, JavaScript (jQuery/Prototype), AJAX, JSON, DOM Scripting, unobtrusive JavaScript, XML, W3C DOM methods and properties, Adobe Photoshop and other graphic editing tools
• Thorough understanding of table-less page layout and positioning, browser behavior and compatibility, cross-browser issues and solutions, coding for Search Engine Optimization
• Experience integrating front end markup with server-side technologies and template engines  (i.e. Grails/GSP, Velocity, FreeMarker, JSP, ASP.NET)
• Experience working with version control systems (eg. SVN/GIT)
• Experience implementing Web Analytics and Website Optimization

The Nice to Haves

• Experience with Scrum (or another agile methodology)
• Exposure to Service Oriented Architecture and Web Service development standards (SOAP, XML, WSDL) and in developing on the Spring and Hibernate frameworks.
• Experience with Adobe Flex and ActionScript
• Experience with Groovy on Grails, Python and Django, or Ruby on Rails
• Experience with XML technologies like XSD, XSL, XPATH
• Experience using standard development frameworks such as Hibernate, Spring, Axis2, Struts
• Knowledge of SQL and database concepts
• Experience configuring web and application servers
• Experience with UML modeling and developing use cases and wireframes
• Familiarity with NodeJS, MongoDB, and server side Javascript
• Understanding of client-server performance issues
• Experience building responsive design websites
• Understanding of WCAG accessibility standards
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and mediation skills
